Basics: Avionics Sub-systems

Image
INTRODUCTION TO ROCKET SCIENCE Partitions of rocket w.r.t. mass: Ms + Mp + Md   AVIONICS SUB-SYSTEMS These are the electronic systems which are integrated in the recovery/payload part of rocket which work together to fulfil the task. They are:  (1) Avionics Bay (2) GPS Bay (3) Ignition Box (4) Ground station   1. AVIONICS BAY Avionics bay consists of four  sub-systems: * Flight computer - The main function of flight computer is to read data from sensors like Barometer, Accelerometer etc. * Memory -They are of 2 types: Flash and SD card * Apogee -It helps in triggering the drogue parachute * Main parachute - This waits for the correct time for the drogue parachute to open DIGITAL COMPUTERS Digital computers are also known as personal computers. They are manufactured to process data in numerical form. The circuits in digital computers performs mathematical operations which are expressed in binary digits. They can also store results in the form of data for further ...

Quadcopters in flight

INTRODUCTION UAV is termed as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, popularly known as drone. It is also known as unpiloted aerial vehicle by International Civil Aviation Organization. It is an air vehicle without human pilot. Quadcopter (UAV) also known as Quadrotor is a four propeller system having an arrangement of four independent rotors on it. This arrangement removes the concept of swash plates which were used earlier for more usage of degrees of freedom. The control of this type of quadcopter is next to impossible without the integration of electronics system in it. Quadcopters has 6 degrees of freedom and four independently working rotors with their rotor speeds. These UAVs use an electronic control system and electronic devices and sensors to stabilize the structure. Being small size and easy manoeuvres, these quadcopters can be flown indoors as well as outdoors. Quad-rotor consists of total four motors, with fixed-pitch blades located at the four corners. Quadcopters do not req...

Nanomaterials and Future Aviation Sector: Opportunities and Approach

Image
INTRODUCTION The innovation in science nowadays deals with materials at nanoscale, typically ranging  from sub nanometre to hundred nanometres. The property given by nanomaterials i.e.  superconductivity and super magnetic effect has allowed the scientists to use them in the  devices such as sensors, monitoring devices, flight equipment etc. Within this box, the  main challenge for the aviation industry is to identify the correct use of the nanomaterials  and to use it wisely for the innovations on the current devices. In addition, which innovation  will change the future of the aviation industry should be known and kept into consideration.  Nanomaterials will have an extreme major effect in the defence industry ranging from the  suits of soldiers to the structures of aircraft, coatings of devices and many encrypted data  things. Engineered Nanomaterials used in aviation industry helps with some major  properties. These properties inclu...
